Context-sensitive menus often have a Move Field command. You use it to move a field. This will move the field up or down one position within the set of fields. The Show Hidden Fields check box must be selected ().
Here are some considerations:
Your field order data are included each time you use Send/Receive.
If you are on a team and share data, the team should agree on the order of the fields.
You will see Move Up and Move Down, unless the field is at the top or the bottom of where that field can appear.
You cannot move a field out if its group.
Examples:
In Lexicon Edit, you cannot move the Translation field out of the Example it belongs to. Entry-level fields cannot appear with Sense-level fields.
In Grammar, you cannot move an Affix Template Table field from one named template to another one.
In Notebook, you cannot move a Subrecord field into the Record-level fields.
Some fields can be different.
Examples:
The Example field shows Move Example Up and Move Example Down.
You cannot move the Lexical Relations field, but you can move fields that hold the various lexical relations.
