Insert a phonological or metathesis rule

1. In the Navigation Pane, click Grammar, and then click Phonological Rules.

2. Do one of the following:

   • On the Insert menu, click Phonological Rule or Metathesis Rule.

   • On the Insert toolbar, click or .

   An empty phonological rule or metathesis rule appears.

3. Enter a name and description.

4. Select a direction.

5. In the Order Number field, specify an order.

6. In the Rule Formula field, do one of the following:

   • Build the phonological rule.

   • Build the metathesis rule.
