Here the term item includes category, type, domain and so on. Similarly, the term subitem includes subcategory, subtype, subdomain and so on. Accordingly, the menu commands might be worded differently, but the steps are the same.
It is recommended that you back up the project before you delete any Lists area list items that may be used throughout the project.
In the Navigation Pane, click Lists, and then click the list from which you will delete a list subitem.
Do one of the following:
In the center pane, expand the list item to expose the subitem you will delete, and then click that subitem. On the Edit menu, click Delete List Item, or on the Standard toolbar, click .
In the center pane, expand the list item to expose the item or subitem under which the subitem you want to delete resides, and then select that item or subitem. Then, in the right pane, under the Subitems (or Subcategories or Subdomains) label, right-click the subitem you want to delete, and then click Delete subitem and its subitems in the menu at appears.
(Alternatively, click the subitem, and then click the menu button that appears to access the Delete subitem and its subitems menu command. Click that menu command.)
For the Reversal Index Category list, the center pane is a browse-style display with columns that, currently, does not show the subcategories. Therefore, in the Categories (or Parts or Speech) pane, click the parent category. In the Category (or Part of Speech) pane, click the Name field for the subcategory you want to delete, and then click the menu button that appears. Click Delete this category and any subcategories on the menu that appears.
The Delete Category (or Part of Speech) warning box appears.
If you are sure you want to delete the subitem specified in the warning box and any subitems, click Delete.
That subitem and any subordinate subitems specified in the warning box are deleted from the entire language project.
Otherwise, click Cancel.
