When you use the Text Chart tab, you insert glossed or analyzed vernacular words and their word glosses into the chart. You can move a word forward and back to a different column.
To preserve word order, Language Explorer automatically limits the move operation to words that can only move forward and those that can only move back.
To move a word forward or back, do the following:
In a Text Chart tab, click the cell that has word you want to move. Point to Move Word on the menu that appears, and then select Forward or Back.
The word that is permitted to move forward or back moves in the direction you selected.
Markers (Preposed from, Postposed from, Grammatical Information, and so on) do not move, so you need to review your markers. Remove and replace them as necessary.
If you need to move a word more than one column, do the steps above for the first move, and the you can use the shortcut keys Ctrl+Forward Arrow or Ctrl+Back Arrow to repeat the last command (forward or back, respectively).
Language Explorer preserves the word order, so you may move more words with each subsequent move command.
You can insert a new row below the current row and move a word down to that row.
You can move all the words in a cell.
