You can enter examples of an inflected form of the headword in the Exemplar field. There can be an Exemplar field in each sense and subsense.
In the Navigation Pane, click Lexicon, and then click Lexicon Edit.
In the Entries pane, click the entry that needs an exemplar.
In the Entry pane, if you cannot see the desired Exemplar field, show hidden fields.
Click the Exemplar field in the sense or subsense that needs an exemplar.
Typically, you will type the exemplar data in the default vernacular writing system. You can embed character in other writing systems, including analysis writing systems.
If your field shows lines for additional writing systems, click the line that shows the writing system you want to use and then enter the exemplar data.
If you use copy and paste to put exemplar data in the field, you need to make sure the writing system or systems are correct.
Here are two ways to check this:
Click a word and then use your left or right arrow keys to move the insertion point though the characters while you examine the writing system that is displayed in the Format toolbar.
Click your exemplar and look at the Format toolbar to learn which style or styles are applied to the text.
Then, use the Font tab in the Styles dialog box to configure your style (or styles). Choose a different font color or background color for each writing system.
These colors will appear in the field and in the dictionary so you can visually confirm the writing systems by these colors. You will need to change the colors again before you publish your data.
